Fort Washita

Fort Washita served various purposes between the mid- and late-1800s.

One primary purpose was to protect the Chickasaw and Choctaw settlers from the Indians.

It's a historic landmark today and is located in Southeast Oklahoma on the east outskirts of Lake Texoma.
