in the spring time
Washington, D.C. is a wonderful place to visit year round, but in the spring - when the cherry blossoms are at their fullest - it becomes a magical wonderland.
Even though you may feel that there are three people per every hanging cherry blossom, a walk around the tidal basin is a must-do. Forget the bike, however. I tried that one year and ended up walking it through the hoards of people - or, here's a novel idea: go on a week day when maybe (and that's a big maybe) there will be less people.
