Once-mighty trees that have succumbed to the force of the ocean waters collect on Rialto Beach.
The next few pictures were taken inside the OP's Hoh Rain Forest. It's probably one of the eeriest places I've ever been.
This is the same fallen Sitka spruce tree that was pictured on Page 2. At a length of 190 feet, it's only a portion of the length of the tree before it fell.
Ruby Beach, on the peninsula's southwest side, with its sea stacks and strewn timber
Frost covers the ground on an early morning on the OP's Hurricane Ridge. A 17-mile road leads up to the top of the ridge for stunning views of Mt. Olympus and its range of snow-capped mountains.
Hurricane Ridge Road
Taken along a 1/2-mile trail that leads out to Cape Flattery, in the OP's most northwesterly corner.
Crescent Bay is on the OP's north shore.
On Hurricane Ridge
One of the most peaceful places on the whole Olympic Peninsula must be Lake Crescent and its lodge by the same name that sits on its south shore.
I stopped along the road on the way from Rialto Beach to get a picture of the sunset as it filtered through the trees.
