...Enchanted Rock
On the edge of the Texas Hill Country, some 20 miles north of Fredericksburg, is Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Truly, you can't miss it. It rises out of the earth to a heighth of 450 feet, it's pink and it's massive, comprising several rounded-0ff domes of granite, but appearing as one large mass in the middle of a plateau.
Go ahead, take a hike. It's not nearly as intimidating as it may seem, and once you get up there, you see that it's filled with, in comparison, smaller boulders and rocks, all a result of volcanic action long before any of us were around.
