from beach to beach
The Isle of Tabarca is just off Costa Blanca. south of Alicante. It's a tiny island, but large in beauty and history.

Tossa de Mar is a picturesque resort on the Costa Brava, in northeast Spain.
In more recent years, Sitges (pictured left) has become known as the St. Tropez of Spain. A large percentage of its population is international, and its property prices are among the most expensive in Europe. The draw is its beautiful beaches, its close proximity to a major airport (in Barcelona) as well as the surrounding Parc Natural del Garraf. Its economy is based on tourism and culture.
Another picturesque and popular tourist resort on the Costa Blanca is Benidorm. The next several pictures were taken there.
Benidorm's "Stairway to Heaven" is supported by a massive limestone rock.
The town of Calpe, near Benidorm, is dominated by the rock formation called the Pinon de Ifach.

Guadalest is another popular tourist town, about 12 or so miles inland from the Costa Blanca. Sitting on a mountain top, it was built by the Moors between the 8th and 13th centuries.
Villajoyosa, a beach town on the Costa Blanca, is known for its 'joyfully' colored houses. To the left is a beachfront restaurant in Villajoyosa.

Okay, so Seville isn't a beach town. But despite that, it has to be one of my favorite cities in all of Europe. Maybe it's because I remember the most beautiful blue post sunset sky I have ever seen; or maybe it's the intricate and colorful tile of the Plaza de Espana. Add all that to the Spanish/Moorish architecture, the plentiful courtyards over- running with orange trees and Mediterranean flora in massive terra cotta pots, the narrow alleyways and the exquisite flamenco dancers, and you have a town that will capture your heart and soul. That's Seville.
At 2,000 years old, its history of various civilizations has added to the unique personality that makes it what it is today.
