Maine isn't known for its covered bridges, in fact there are only nine in the entire state, but I happened upon this one, the Sunday River Bridge, on my way into New Hampshire. It's known locally as the Artist's Bridge; was opened in 1872 and closed to traffic in 1958. It spans the Sunday River and is located just off Highway 2 near Newry and the New Hampshire border,
