From the small Tuscan town of Collodi comes the Italian author Carlo Lorenzini, the author of "The Adventures of Pinocchio." Lorenzini spent part of his childhood in Collodi, so he started signing his works as Carlos Collodi. Another highlight of the town called "Pinocchio's town," is the expanse of gardens called Villa Garzoni, which is part of an ancient fortress. Collodi's medieval history is documented back to the 12th century.
