Water Holes Slot Canyon is located less than 10 miles south of Page, Arizona. It's divided into the eastern and western sections, the western side being much more difficult to manuever, from what I understand.
The east side is manageable for most people, though it seems you must walk forever in deep sand on the canyon floor before you ever reach the inside of the canyon - i.e., the fun part. It's probably a mile or maybe three-quarters mile outside, across slip rock and exposed to the sun.
The advantage to Water Holes is that you can visit it without the crowds. In fact, I was in there by myself for a good 45 minutes, and never saw a soul coming in or going out. You do, however, have to get a permit from the Navajo . Their office is at the Antelope Slot Canyon park on Highway 98.
