It was some intense ups and downs for this novice UTV side-by-side rider --and I was just a passenger. Exhilarating and thrilling, five buggies and 11 adventurers, old friends and new friends, took off pushing through the washes and clambering up the steep hills of the Maricopa County dirt trails north and west of Lake Pleasant, Arizona.
We started out primed for excitement and ended up drenched in dust, all a part of the thrill of this all-day excursion that covered some 80 miles through the vast desert terrain. Breathtaking panoramic views surrounded us atop each peak where we'd escape the buggies to soak in the beauty.
Protecting my cameras as best I could from the flying dust, these pictures are the result of the journey. I will not particularly need them to remember this day.
