Cave Creek Regional Park's Clay Mine Trail is one of the easier hikes in the park, but to spice it up a bit, hikers might consider including the Go John and Overton trails, making it a still-simple loop.
The leg out to the point from which the trail gets its name is a must-see. There's an interesting story to the clay mine, and some signage at the mine's entrance explains it.
