North Carolina was probably my first favorite state. I visited it for the first time way back in the late 70s when I was living in the southeast part of Virginia. North Carolina and the Outer Banks were just a stone's throw away. I went often.
When I retired and was looking for a retirement home, I headed straight for the coast of this great state, but, in the end, decided against it. I still go back, and I've added a few more favorites, but it will still be way up at the top.
