the wandering chick
...Florida
from coast to coast in the Sunshine State

What's the first thing anyone does after arriving in Florida? Head to the beach, of course! My two travel partners and I saw plenty of sandy white beaches on our 17-day trip that started in Pensacola, headed over to St. Augustine, went down the Atlantic coast to Key West and then across the Everglades to Sanibel Island.

We saw many of the sights of St. Augustine, stopped in at the Kennedy Space Center, walked the famous Duval Street in Key West and collected shells on Sanibel. We got rained on in the Everglades, delighted over Muskovee chicks in Fort Lauderdale and ate fabuously everywhere.

As it always happens, we left wanting more. But it was a memorable road trip with hardy laughs, beautiful sights and soothing sunsets.

See what we saw through the pictures on these pages. At the end of each page will be links to the next location and back to this page.

Enjoy and thank you for visiting.

We heeded this sign. It was our first beach to visit, and we certainly didn't want to start our trip by smashing a baby chick! Being spring, we will have seen lots of fluffy little peeps throughout our trip.
