The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a fun 1/2-mile long amusement park even if you don't do the rides. There's a huge arcades room, lots of food concessions, and the beach setting is stunning. As well, there are a couple of national historic landmarks to see: the 1924 Giant Dipper roller coaster and the 1911 Looff carousel.

The San Lorenzo River separates the boardwalk and residential beach homes of Santa Cruz.
Not too far from the boardwalk, a lighthouse marks the entry to the Santa Cruz harbor.
